Au Caire, la barque solaire du pharaon Kheops est en train d'être reconstruite
Connue pour être le plus ancien bateau archéologique connus et le plus grand vestige organique découvert dans l’histoire de l’humanité, la barque solaire de Khéops, bâtisseur de la Grande Pyramide, a été assemblée il y a environ 4 600 ans avec du bois de cèdre et d’acacia. Elle mesure 43,5 mètres et était censée transporter la dépouille du pharaon dans l’au-delà.

Known to be the oldest known archaeological boat and the largest organic vestige discovered in the history of humanity, the solar boat of Khufu, builder of the Great Pyramid, was assembled around 4,600 years ago with cedar and acacia wood. It measures 43.5 meters and was supposed to transport the remains of the pharaoh to the afterlife.
