Mémorial de la catastrophe aérienne d'Air India à Ahakista
Le jardin commémoratif et le cadran solaire d'Ahakista, dans le comté de Cork, créés par le sculpteur Ken Thompson, commémorent les victimes de la catastrophe d'Air India en 1985.
Le 23 juin 1985, le vol 182 d'Air India, un Boeing 747-237B reliant Montréal à Delhi via Londres, a été détruit par une bombe à 9 400 mètres au-dessus de l'espace aérien irlandais et s'est abîmé dans l'océan Atlantique. Les 329 personnes à bord ont été tuées et les corps de près de 200 victimes n'ont jamais été retrouvés.
L'attentat à la bombe contre le vol 182 d'Air India a été l'acte de terrorisme aérien le plus meurtrier au monde jusqu'aux attentats du 11 septembre 2001.

The memorial garden and sundial in Ahakista, County Cork, created by sculptor Ken Thompson, commemorate the victims of the 1985 Air India disaster.
On 23 June 1985, Air India Flight 182, a Boeing 747-237B en route from Montreal to Delhi via London, was destroyed by a bomb at 9,400 metres over Irish airspace and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. All 329 people on board were killed, and close to 200 victims' remains have never been found.
The bombing of Air India Flight 182 was the world's deadliest act of aviation terrorism until the September 11 attacks in 2001.
