Le renouveau du bassin minier du Nord-Pas-de-Calais
Ce territoire du Nord-Pas-de-Calais, longtemps marqué par l’activité charbonnière, a su renaître de ses cendres pour devenir aujourd’hui une région dynamique. Derrière les clichés de friches industrielles et de terrils noirs, ce sont des sites vivants qui s’animent, portés par une population d’un million deux cent mille habitants fière de son héritage.
Depuis 2012, le bassin minier est d’ailleurs inscrit au patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO, témoignant de son importance historique et humaine.
Loin d’être figé, ce territoire est en perpétuelle métamorphose.
The revival of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais mining bassin
This region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais, long marked by coal mining, has risen from the ashes to become a dynamic area. Beyond the clichés of industrial wastelands and black slag heaps, the are vibrant sites, triving thanks to a population of 1.2 million proud of its heritage.
Since 2012, the mining bassin has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a testament to its historical and human significance.
Far from being static, this region is in a state of perpetual transformation.
