The Opal Coast threatened by erosion
Between Calais and Boulogne-sur-Mer, on the Opal Coast, the sea has eroded 300 meters of dunes over the past seventy years. Concerned but not resigned to their fate, residents and local officials are taking action to slow the retreat of the coastline. Examples include Wissant and Tardinghen.
