La chapelle de TREMALO en Bretagne
La chapelle de TREMALO construite en 1550 est un haut lieu de culture et de recueillement en Bretagne. Apparaissant au bout d'une allée de chênes et de châtaigniers centenaires, sur les hauteurs de Pont Aven dans le Bois d'Amour, elle a inspiré de nombreux peintres et notamment Paul Gauguin qui y a interprété en 1889 LE CHRIST JAUNE, aujourd’hui conservée à l’Albright-Knox Art Gallery de Buffalo aux États-Unis. La chapelle décorée de nombreuses sculptures de bois peint est à découvrir en France en la paroisse de Nizon comme ce jour du 26 août 2026.
The Chapel of TREMALO in Brittany
The TREMALO Chapel, built in 1550, is a major center of culture and contemplation in Brittany. Appearing at the end of a path lined with centuries-old oak and chestnut trees, on the heights of Pont-Aven in the Bois d’Amour, it has inspired many painters, notably Paul Gauguin, who painted The Yellow Christ there in 1889; the work is now housed at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, United States. The chapel, adorned with numerous painted wooden sculptures, can be visited in France in the parish of Nizon, as on this day, August 26, 2026.
