Mahmoud Dicko, l'imam à la tête de la coalition qui réclame un changement de pouvoir au Mali pose dans son bureau de Bamako le 7 décembre 2017. Né vers 1954, originaire de la région de Tombouctou il a présidé le Haut Conseil islamique malien (HCIM) de janvier 2008 à avril 2019. Le 7 septembre 2019, alors que des ambitions présidentielles lui sont prêtées, il lance la Coordination des mouvements, associations et sympathisants (CMAS), un mouvement politique qui suit sa ligne islamiste. En juin 2020, sa CMAS s'unit à une large plateforme d'opposition, le Mouvement du 5 juin-Rassemblement des Forces Patriotiques (M5-RFP).

On September 7, 2019, when presidential ambitions were lent to him, he launched the Coordination of movements, associations and sympathizers (CMAS), a political movement that suited the Islamist line. In June 2020, CMAS joined forces with a large opposition platform, the June 5 Movement-Rally of the Patriotic Forces (M5-RFP).
