1-54 art fair at Christie's
The 2021 edition of the Contemporary African Art Fair 1-54, which was originally planned to be held in Marrakech, finally took place this year at Christie's.
After London, Marrakech and New York, Paris hosted the event from 20th to 23rd January.
Real visits, certainly by invitation and barrier gestures, but what a breath of fresh air! Strolling, exchanging and not having a screen between our eyes and the works presented. A particular pleasure to discover the paintings of Roméo Mivekannin, his "Leçon de piano" like his "Radeau de la Méduse" echoing the colonial past, the photos of Mous Lamrabat, the tapestries of Noel Anderson, Nu Bareto and its revisited flag, the blue inks of Barthélémy Toguo and so many others.
Of course, there is always a possibility not to miss anything on Artsy until January 30th.
