The Covid-19 in deceleration
Today, Serge Carreira, head of the intensive care unit is more serene. After several weeks of increases, the resuscitation curve seems to have finally stabilized. This is a first encouraging sign for the caregivers who hope to see a return to a more normal situation in the weeks to come. Maybe finally the light at the end of the tunnel!
On the other hand, the Covid patients are younger and are deteriorating faster and faster, says Dr Eve Ouille, head of the operating room.
In the first wave, they were around 70 to 75 years old, today it's more like 40 to 60. This day, a 42 year old Covid patient, brought by the SAMU, made his entrance. He was installed in the room next to Hakim (38 years old). The caregivers think that he too might be contaminated by the English variant.
As for Hakim, he still coughs a lot, but he is better.
