Retour à la mer
Si on lui avait dit il y a quelques années qu'il deviendrait ostréiculteur, il ne l'aurait sans-doute pas cru. Fils d'un marin-pêcheur du Finistère, Patrice Le Cain déroulait pourtant avec réussite, une carrière de cadre dans une grande entreprise de transports du Nord. Mais l'envie progressive de renouer avec ses racines, ajoutée au hasard des rencontres, l'ont incité à se lancer dans cette aventure : l'audacieux apprentissage d'un nouveau métier, dans un nouveau domaine, à l'aube de la cinquantaine. Et pour boucler la boucle, c'est le costume du marin et la casquette du patron qu'il doit aujourd'hui apprendre à porter.
J'accompagne Patrice pour raconter cette première année de toutes les découvertes, où il accomplira chaque tâche pour la première fois. Un premier cycle où il cherchera le bon chemin à travers des questionnements, qui auront chacun leur impact sur sa future production. Une expérience initiatique où, saisons après saisons, il partagera ses doutes et son enthousiasme pour ces étapes qui constituent aujourd'hui, l'ossature de sa nouvelle vie.
Back to the sea
If someone had told him a few years ago that he would become an oyster farmer, he would probably not have believed it. Son of a fisherman from Finistère, Patrice Le Cain had a successful career as an executive in a large refrigerated transport company in the North of France. The gradual desire to reconnect with his roots, added to the chance encounters, encouraged him to embark on this great adventure: the daring apprenticeship of a new trade, in a new field. At the dawn of his fifties, it is the sailor's suit and the boss's cap that he must now learn to wear.
I accompany Patrice to tell the story of this first year of all discoveries, when he will accomplish each task for the first time. Searching for the right path through questions that will have an impact on his future production. An initiatory experience where, season after season, he will share his doubts and his enthusiasm for these steps which today constitute the backbone of his new life.
