VISMAVILLE IN CONTAINMENT // AT THE BALCON // Episode 30
As every day for a week, I am greeted on my arrival by Micheline "the lady across the street". Her eyes above her mask are darker today. She has a sore throat. "But hey, I'm going to take some honey and I'll be fine, it's my sciatica that continues to torture me" "When I think that 5min of discussion fills me up, whereas before the confinement, 5min was always too short. "Yasmine appears in the doorway frame of her building. " I just came to say hello, " the lady said. Catherine arrives from the top of the street, she went to compose the bouquets of flowers at the church for the video recording of the Sunday mass which will take place this afternoon.
Eleonore is on her balcony today with her two daughters. Alya doesn't look well. "I threw up last night..." She is anxious," Eleonore tells me. The children's holidays end tomorrow and Alya doesn't like the home-school system. And she doesn't know if she will have to go back to school on May 11th, with masks on or not. There are a lot of things that make her anxious.
I explain to the balcony next door that this is my "star balcony". This photo was used as an illustration for an article in the press on the heat records broken at Easter.
On this balcony live Isabelle (the mother) and Amélia (the daughter). They are both confined. Amelia has been teleworking since the beginning of the confinement. She works in a human resources consulting firm. As a result, she has a lot of work with the partial unemployment to manage.
Madeleine's on her balcony. I never asked her if she usually works and in what: "Nanny at home" "I started in 1978, it's been 42 years. I work in the family's home. Normally I take care of a family of 4 children in Paris. "Once I worked with a family for 16 years."
As I was leaving, I met Aïcha (M'hamed's wife, Yasmine's mother) and Lina coming back from shopping. Elegance is the order of the day. Assorted colors on one side and pretty and homemade mask on the other. Sandra is on her balcony, it's the weekend break. Monday, she will be in the morning at the SAMU, from 7H30 to 14H.
The first balcony on the left, from the first floor, from the first alley, welcomes a family of 4 including two little boys Evan 5 months old and Ryan 3 years old. I asked Ryan to marry me, because he always has a smart look on his face and I like it. He accepted with a big smile and then a grimace. We'll talk about it again at the "deconfinement"!
