Malgré la pandémie, les manifestations anti-racistes se multiplient à travers le monde, suite à la mort de George Floyd, lundi 25 mai 2020 à Minneapolis, aux États Unis.
"Je ne peux pas respirer" fait référence aux derniers mots de l'afro-américain assassiné lors de son arrestation par la police à Minneapolis, alors qu'il était maintenu au sol par Derek Chauvin, le policier inculpé pour "homicide involontaire". Le policier qui le plaquait au sol a maintenu son genou sur son cou pendant plusieurs minutes. Huit exactement. La vidéo de ces derniers instants, largement diffusée, a suscité l'indignation et des manifestations anti-racistes ont été organisées à travers le monde. Une indignation qui n'a cessé de croître au fur et à mesure des jours.

"I can't breathe" refers to the last words of the African-American man when he was arrested by police in Minneapolis while being held down by Derek Chauvin, the police officer charged with "manslaughter". The officer who tackled him to the ground held his knee on his neck for several minutes. Eight exactly. The video of those last moments, which was widely broadcast, caused outrage and anti-racist demonstrations were held around the world. An outrage that has grown steadily over the days.
