Béatification de l'archevêque martyr Oscar Romero
L'archevêque martyr Oscar Arnulfo Romero faisait partie du mouvement de théologie de la libération dans le catholicisme. Il a été assassiné en 1980 pendant la guerre civile alors qu'il disait la messe, la cause de canonisation a été ouverte en 1997 et le pape Jean-Paul II a conféré à Oscar Romero le titre de "Serviteur de Dieu". Il est à un pas de devenir le premier saint salvadorien et le deuxième d'Amérique centrale.

He is one step away from becoming the first Salvadoran Saint and the second in Central America.
