Liban - Beyrouth - Marche pour la justice - 12/09/2020
Beyrouth. 12 Septembre 2020. Un peu plus d'un mois après l'explosion du port de Beyrouth qui a couté la vie à plus de 200 personnes et détruit une partie de la capitale libanaise, une marche était organisée depuis le ministère de la justice jusqu'au palais présidentiel situé à Baabda, dans les hauteurs de la ville. Les manifestants réclament des comptes à l'égard de la classe politique et notamment du président Michel Aoun qu'ils jugent comme responsable de l'explosion. De nombreux manifestants arboraient des pancartes où il était écrit "il savait", en référence au fait que le président libanais était au courant que 2750 tonnes de nitrate d'ammonium étaient entroposées illégalement dans le port de Beyrouth et qui causa l'explosion dévastatrice. Sur la route qui mène au palais présidentiel, les manifestants furent bloqués par l'armée et les forces de sécurité libanaise. Quelques affrontements eurent lieu, l'armée libanaise tirant notamment en l'air à balles réelles pour disperser les manifestants.

The demonstrators demand accountability from the political class and in particular President Michel Aoun, whom they consider responsible for the explosion.
