REFORESTATION À PEMBA - L'HOMME DE LA CÔTE
Mbarouk Omar est un ingénieur agronome.
Sur son île de Pemba (partie de l'archipel de Zanzibar en Tanzanie), il est une personne reconnue et respectée.
Avec l'appui d'ONG il agit pour la reforestation de l'île et, notamment, par la plantation de mangroves, il contribue à la lutte contre l'érosion du littoral, impliquant des populations démunies. D'autres activités pérennes prises à son initiatives conduisent ces populations à la suffisance alimentaire avec le peu d'eau douce disponible.

REFORESTATION IN PEMBA - THE MAN OF THE COAST
Mbarouk Omar is an agronomist.
On his island of Pemba (part of the Zanzibar archipelago in Tanzania), he is a well-known and respected person.
With the support of NGOs, he works for the reforestation of the island and, in particular, by planting mangroves, he contributes to the fight against coastal erosion, involving poor populations. Other sustainable activities undertaken at his initiative are leading these populations to food sufficiency with the little fresh water available.
