Le 16 mars 2022, le théâtre académique d'art dramatique de la région de Donetsk à Marioupol fit l'objet de bombardements aériens volontaires de la part de l'armée russe.
Des centaines, voire un millier de civils, dont une majorité de femmes avec des enfants, y avaient trouvé refuge.
Selon des estimations de l'agence Associated Press, c'est jusqu'à 600 personnes (soit le double de l'estimation des autorités locales) qui y auraient péri.

WAR IN UKRAINE - MARIUPOL DRAMA THEATRE COMPLETELY DESTROYED
Part of an assignment for the German magazine STERN in summer 2022.
On 16 March 2022, the Academic Drama Theatre in the Donetsk region of Mariupol was deliberately bombed from the air by the Russian army.
Hundreds to a thousand civilians, mostly women with children, had taken refuge there.
According to estimates by the Associated Press, up to 600 people (double the estimate of the local authorities) died there.
