Pedestrian crossings in the colours of peace
At four locations in the city, at pedestrian crossings, ephemeral paintings in the colours of the rainbow have been created.
Based on the model of the permanently painted pedestrian crossings in Paris, the city of Besançon wishes to show its support for LGBTQIA+ people who are victims of discrimination.
These rainbows of peace were painted at the entrance of strategic points in the city in order to be visible to the greatest number of people.
The various local associations fighting against discrimination - Nouvel Esprit Lgbta; Le Refuge; Le Cercle; Sos Racisme; Amnesty International - would like to make them permanent and see them flourish outside the Doubs loop in order to reach a wider public.
As Mrs. Vignot was unable to inaugurate these passages on May 17 during the World Day against Homophobia and Transphobia due to unfavourable weather, she did so in front of the camera on June 21, 2021.
Four passages:
- Rue Megevant between the mayor and the court
- In front of the Frac
- At the entrance to the city before arriving at Place du Jura
- At the level of the bridge of the republic
