The Arch of Peace
Sister Beatrice transmits a speech of peace in the region thanks to her project of the Arch of Peace. Under construction since 2015, the chapel aims to be a place that inspires dialogue and peace among all peoples. The Sister wishes to bring dialogue "to the abrahamic crossroads" to bring religions together in a region marked by war and inter-religious tensions.
Sister Beatrice's hermitage is located on St. Joseph Hill in Qaouzah in southern Lebanon. From this remote location, one can see the Israeli-Lebanese border and an Israeli monitoring post from very close range. This voltage line is protected by UNIFIL as a buffer between the two countries. Israel and Lebanon remain officially at war, even after Israel's withdrawal from the country in 2000.
