Cette tragédie au coeur de l'identité arménienne, est aujourd'hui le symbole d'un besoin de survivre et d'exister, et cela, marges la réalité géopolitique du Caucase. Chaque année des milliers d'Arméniens à travers le monde entier commémore cette date, un besoin de mémoire et d'espoir, et surtout une volonté de ne jamais oublié. À Erevan, un défilé conduit des centaines de milliers de personnes jusqu'à Tsitsernakaberd, le mémorial du génocide arménien.
The 108th anniversary of Armenian Genocide in Yerevan, Armenia, 2023
On April 24, 1915, the round-up of Armenian intellectuals in Constantinople marked the beginning of the Armenian genocide committed by the young Turkish-Ottoman state. This tragedy, at the heart of Armenian identity, is today the symbol of a need to survive and to exist, and this, in spite of the geopolitical reality of the Caucasus. Every year thousands of Armenians around the world commemorate this date, a need for memory and hope, and above all a desire never to forget. In Yerevan, a parade leads hundreds of thousands of people to Tsitsernakaberd, the memorial of the Armenian genocide.
