Rafael Yaghobzadeh "I met Udi Segall, a young 19-year-old Israeli from Galilee. On July 28th, 2014 Udi was called by the armed forces to do his military service but refuses to serve for ideological reasons. A conscientious objector, he is one of those 130 Israeli "Refusnik" who said no to take up arms in 2014. Udi tells me that he was tried and spent 20 days in prison before being temporarily released on August 14th, 2014, until his next trial. We met the day following his release in the center of Tel Aviv, the sun was at its zenith, I found a propitious and dark place to shoot this portrait. Using the torch of my mobile phone, I was able to illuminate his face that expresses so much about his situation."
