Based in Paris (France)
Julie Franchet was born in 1983 in the suburbs of Paris and spent her childhood in a small village in Sarthe. After a Bachelor's degree in Art du Spectacle at the University of Caen (Basse Normandie), Julie left the world of theater and cinema to study photography in Belgium. Leaving the animated image for the still image, she wants to leave the observer the freedom to imagine his scenario, to reflect for himself on what is in.
As a photo mediator, Julie organizes photo workshops for children to teach them how to look and wonder about the act of photographing.
Her series LLorando, on the presence of the absence, inspired by the film Mulholland Drive received the congratulations of the jury during her presentation of end of studies.
