L'héritage de Berta Cáceres
Berta Isabel Cáceres était une activiste environnementale hondurienne, leader indigène et co-fondatrice du Conseil des organisations populaires et indigènes du Honduras (COPINH) qui se consacre à la défense de l'environnement à Intibucá et à la défense du peuple indigène Lenca, elle était la coordinatrice de cette organisation. En 2015, elle a remporté le prix Goldman pour l'environnement en 2015, une campagne populaire qui a réussi à faire pression sur le plus grand constructeur de barrages au monde pour qu'il se retire du barrage d'Agua Zarca sur le Río Gualcarque. Après des années de menaces de mort, le 02 mars 2016, elle a été assassinée chez elle par des intrus armés. Mais son héritage continue et des milliers de Honduriens ont été influencés par son travail actif et ont été respectés en tant que personne luttant pour une meilleure planète et la justice pour les communautés indigènes en Amérique latine ainsi que dans le monde entier.
Berta Caceres Legacy
Berta Isabel Cáceres was a Honduran environmental activist, indigenous leader and co-founder of the Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras (COPINH) which is dedicated to the defense of the environment in Intibucá and the defense of the indigenous Lenca people, she was the coordinator of this organization. In 2015 she won the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2015, a grassroots campaign that successfully pressured the world?s largest dam builder to pull out of the Agua Zarca Dam at the Río Gualcarque, after years of threats against her life, on March 02, 2016 she was assassinated in her home by armed intruders. But her legacy continues and thousands of Hondurans were influenced by her work as an actives and was respected as a person fighting for a better planet and justice for indigenous communities in Latin Americas as well as around the world.
