FRANCE - CONCERT ON WATER - CULTURE
These may be the only shows that we will be lucky enough to see because of the health measures. They have planned everything for that and they have fought with the prefectures to obtain authorizations and they have succeeded. We are here on the Lac de Castera Verduzan in the Gers under a beautiful sun. Plots have been laid out to respect the physical distance. The spectators came in large numbers. Poetic compositions in trio with singer and violinist Delphine Coutant, pianist Cédric Granelle and cellist Daniel Trutet transport us gently. I interviewed them before the concert in order to collect their testimonies on this beautiful adventure of 2 months together travelling around France. There is also Marie who plays the flute and takes care of the ticket office, the sound engineer and the frog man. They manage everything at 6. The piano is carried on an adapted catamaran. Their show is called Musiques Flottantes.
There is a piano floating on a catamaran, Voel is the inventor and the artistic director. In the intro, the pianist, Cédric, plays solo for 10 minutes, letting himself be carried away by the vibration of the place. Then Delphine & Daniel come back on stage and they take us for more than an hour on a poetic and visual journey. Their inspirations come essentially from nature and travel. The frog man moves the music raft to bring different angles to the audience.
Since 2014, the pianO du lac organizes in self-production a summer tour of floating concerts in France and Spain. From lake to lake they offer the public a moment of encounter and poetry. Musique flottante was at Castera Verduzan on 2020 08 05. Their tour of the West ends in mid-September.
