DRIVE TEST SCREENING COVID -19 - an initiative to relieve hospital staff.
Following the decision of the Regional Health Agency to approve and authorise several medical analysis laboratories to carry out tests in the Alpes-Maritimes in order to relieve congestion at the Nice University Hospital, the City of Nice decided to organise drive tests. They have been open since 26 March 2020.
Two laboratories are authorised to carry out these drive-tests.
To have access to these tests, it is mandatory to have a medical prescription, to be a medical staff with symptoms evocative of Covid 19 or to be a staff with symptoms working with fragile people or to be a fragile person at risk or a pregnant woman presenting the symptoms. The screening is prescribed by a doctor: the prescription is then sent by the doctor directly to the laboratory by e-mail or fax.
The generalization of these tests throughout France could better combat the Covid 19 epidemic by relieving the burden on hospital staff.
